Position: Network/Telecom Specialist- Onsite -In Person Interview

Title: Network/Telecom Specialist – Onsite (In Person Interview)

Location: Raleigh, NC

Contract: Long term – W2 or C2C

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the statewide Emergency Services IP Network (ESInet) and NG911 systems 24/7 to identify outages, alarms, or performance issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for PSAPs reporting technical problems or service interruptions.
  • Receive, triage, document, and track support tickets through resolution.
  • Troubleshoot network, telecom, and connectivity issues affecting 911 operations.
  • Communicate with 911 Directors, Supervisors, telecommunications carriers, service providers, and the Internal Board and AT&T Tiger Team regarding outages, maintenance, and incident response.
  • Escalate complex incidents to Tier II, Tiger Team technicians, or additional vendors/carriers when needed.
  • Maintain documentation, ticket narration, and operational logs in Salesforce.
  • Support operational continuity during emergencies, severe weather events, and disaster response situations.
  • Monitor network security, system health, and telecommunications performance across PSAPs statewide.
  • Coordinate reroutes or alternate communications paths during outages or call surges to maintain uninterrupted 911 service.
  • Provide customer‑service‑focused support to PSAP personnel throughout North Carolina.
Position Details
  • In‑person position located at 3900 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
  • Help desk / incident management.
  • Telecommunications support.
  • Public safety communications support.
  • Supports mission‑critical emergency communications infrastructure for the state.
  • Long‑term project, initial period 1 year with continued engagement expected for 4+ years.
Skills and Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of technologies, operating systems, networking, anti‑virus, backups, systems firewalls, and switches – 3 years required.
  • Knowledge of at least one vendor product:
    Juniper, VMWare, Microsoft, or Cisco – 3 years required.
  • Strong writing skills to maintain organized documentation – 3 years required.
  • Knowledge of network cabling, network classification, and network topology – 3 years required.
  • Experience with VOIP technologies (highly desired).
  • Experience in a NOC environment (highly desired).
