UTS – Temporary Computer Technician – Inspection and Customer Support at UNC Chapel Hill

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer‑focused Computer Technician to inspect incoming computer equipment for recycling or refurbishment and provide technical support to customers for refurbished systems.

• Receive and inspect incoming computer hardware.
• Evaluate condition and functionality to determine recycling or refurbishment.
• Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on refurbishable units.
• Document inspection results and maintain inventory records.
• Provide technical support to customers regarding refurbished computers.
• Collaborate with sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Other duties as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in computer hardware support, troubleshooting, repair, IT support, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Experience with computer repair or IT support is a plus.
