UTS - Temporary Technical Operations Manager at NC State
The Technical Operations Manager manages business‑critical processes relating to digital tools, data management, employment outcome reporting, and internal success measures.
ResponsibilitiesFunctional
Responsibilities Include:
Career Outcome Collection, Analysis, and Reporting – 50%
The Manager will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of career outcome information to internal and external stakeholders.
Employment Outcome Collection and Analysis:
- In close collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders, this individual will be responsible for the design, launch, and continuous optimization of an employment outcome collection and analysis process that systematically captures relevant student employment outcomes across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- The Manager will work with stakeholders to ensure data collection processes align with national and internationally recognized industry standards.
Internal Outcome Reporting:
Generate regular internal employment update reports to provide stakeholders with insights into placement trends and career outcome data across programs.
Manage Portfolio of Digital Tools – 30%
The Manager will support full life‑cycle management of a portfolio of digital tools, databases, and employment CRMs (Navigate, Simplicity, and 12
Twenty) serving students, staff, employers, and alumni. This may include:
- Managing the technology lifecycle from sourcing, evaluating, and demonstrating potential vendor platforms to navigating approval processes, overseeing implementation, and executing secure off‑boarding procedures.
- Assessing emerging technologies and benchmarking tools and processes with peer institutions.
- Managing user access to digital tools, including granting and revoking access as users onboard, transition, and graduate.
- Implementing CRM updates, including functional enhancements and API coordination between systems.
- Developing end‑user training materials and serving as a technical resource for troubleshooting digital tools.
- Providing timely and effective support to users.
- Managing annual contract renewals, maintaining documentation of contract terms, and tracking pricing information.
- Conducting periodic reviews of digital tool subscriptions, evaluating effectiveness, usage, impact, and return on investment.
- Creating and maintaining internal file storage structures for organisational documentation.
- Coordinating with campus partners to identify opportunities for shared technology resources.
Continuous Improvement Metrics and Measures – 20%
The Manager will maintain an internal Key Performance Indicator ( KPI ) system to measure operational effectiveness and impact. This dashboard will support data‑informed decision‑making among leadership and stakeholders.
Dynamic Metric Dashboard Design and Maintenance:
- Maintaining dynamic analytics dashboards that visualise key performance indicators across programs.
- Key metrics may include user engagement, satisfaction measures, and career outcome data.

QualificationsRequirements and Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Higher Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working with data management, reporting, analytics, CRM systems, or operational processes.
- Experience using technology platforms, databases, or reporting tools to collect, analyse, and present data.
- Experience managing projects, improving processes, and coordinating multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
Department Required Skills
- Experience using and/or managing CRM systems, web‑based analytical tools, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
