Systems Engineer, Cloud Computing: Infrastructure & Operations, Cybersecurity, IT Support
You will be working on a team that is building a cloud-based development environment. You will work with a multi-disciplinary collaborative team of hardware, software engineers and security specialists to design and implement a secure cloud-based software development and maintenance environment. You will be part of our employee-owned international research and engineering company. ARA is recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences, and you will be on this team.
Position Requirements- S. Citizenship (No exceptions; green card holders are not eligible).
- Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- BS degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience or MS degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Successfully obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, etc.) within 60 days of hire.
- Good oral & written communication skills
- Excel as a team player and strive to maximize team & department performance
- Willing to work on-site, daily, at our Raleigh, NC location

- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms
- Proficiency in programming languages like: C++, Java, Go or Python
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like:
Kubernetes, Helm, Amazon ECS/EKS or Open Shift - Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as:
Jenkins, Git Lab or Argo - Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Salt Stack)
- Basic knowledge of monitoring tools similar to: AWS Cloud Watch, Splunk, Prometheus or Grafana
Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.
PreferredMasters or better in Computer Science or related field.
