Founded in 2012 by ten attorneys from prominent regional and national law firms, Morningstar Law Group was built on a simple premise: deliver exceptional legal counsel while maintaining a client-focused approach to growth. Over the past decade, the firm has expanded from its founding group to more than 40 attorneys, becoming one of North Carolina's leading business law firms.
Morningstar's growth reflects the same principles that guided its founding. Rather than pursuing expansion for its own sake, the firm has grown thoughtfully in response to the needs of its clients and the industries it serves. This measured approach has allowed Morningstar to maintain a highly collaborative culture while continuing to attract sophisticated clients and complex legal matters.
The firm's success is driven by its people — not only its attorneys, but the talented professionals who support them. Morningstar seeks staff who bring the same commitment to excellence and client service that defines the firm's legal work. In a lean, collaborative environment, every team member plays a meaningful role in how the firm operates and how it is experienced by clients.

This position reports to the Director of Administration and offers a strong opportunity for increased scope and responsibility as the firm grows and its technology needs continue to expand.

- Serve as the firm's primary internal liaison with the MSP, including ticket escalation, follow-up, service-quality monitoring, coordination of projects, and review of recurring issues or trends.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, user provisioning, access changes, equipment deployment, laptop replacement coordination, and technology inventory in collaboration with administrative staff and the MSP.
- Support and help administer the firm's cloud-based environment, including Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra /Azure AD, SharePoint/One Drive, Teams, VOIP, and related systems.
- Coordinate with the MSP on endpoint management, patching, monitoring, backup, firewall management, wireless networks, and maintenance of the firm's limited server environment.
- Help oversee the firm's evolving security stack, including coordination with the MSP and vendors for cybersecurity platforms and related monitoring and response workflows.
- Support law-firm technology platforms and workflows, including document management, e-signature, and legal-tech applications used by attorneys and staff.
- Develop and maintain technology documentation, including user-facing guides, internal procedures, vendor contacts, asset records, system diagrams, and escalation paths.
- Identify recurring support issues and recommend process improvements, training, configuration changes, or vendor follow-up to reduce disruption and improve user experience.
- Assist with technology budgeting, license management, vendor renewals, equipment planning, and evaluation of new tools or services.
- Participate in technology projects, including Microsoft 365 configuration changes, security enhancements, office technology improvements, legal-technology implementations, and AI-related initiatives.
- Promote practical, secure, and efficient use of technology across the firm, including user education and adoption support.
- Five or more years of progressive IT experience, including experience in a law firm, legal department, or professional services environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra /Azure AD, SharePoint/One Drive, Teams, Windows laptops, endpoint support, and identity/access management concepts.
- Experience supporting attorneys or other high-expectation professional users in a responsive, service-oriented environment.
