Scope of Project:
The NCDIT‑T Web Systems Team seeks a Front End Web Designer/Developer to support ongoing UX design and front‑end development for enterprise web applications and sites developed for NCDOT and NCDMV. The role involves building and supporting accessible UI components, ensuring consistency across web solutions, and training business customers on created applications.
All candidates must be local to the Triangle region of North Carolina and may be required to attend on‑site meetings as business needs warrant. Candidates will need to be on‑site on the first day to collect equipment.
Responsibilities- Create, update, and refresh web component and user interface prototypes.
- Build HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript in accessible ways for content management systems and enterprise products.
- Work cross‑team across NCDIT Transportation to bring user interface consistency.
- Perform training sessions/webinars for NCDOT business customers on created apps/sites/tools.
- JavaScript and Type Script proficiency – 5 years
- Vue.js – 3 years
- State management with signals or reactive stores – 4 years
- Web performance optimization – 3 years
- Accessibility (WCAG 2.2+) best practices – 3 years
- User experience design – 3 years
- Integration with SAP, Service Now, SharePoint, etc. – 4 years
- AI‑assisted development and workflow automation – 1 year
- Website accessibility testing – 4 years
- Semantic HTML structure and accessibility foundations – 5 years
- Modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, variables, theming) – 5 years
- Vite for modern build tooling – 3 years
- Design systems and component library architecture – 3 years
