Eaton’s Global Communication team is hiring a Director, Global Technology, Channel & Content. The preference is to base this leader at a major Eaton US hub with communications presence.
What you’ll doEaton’s Corporate Communications team operates across a diverse and expanding set of channels, platforms, and audiences. The Director of Communications Technology, Global Channel and Content will serve as the enterprise leader responsible for shaping how Eaton’s culture is promoted through effective and impactful storytelling – how it is created, optimized, targeted and delivered across channels – all underpinned by a modern, integrated communications technology ecosystem.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Communications, this role will act as a strategic advisor and enabler to communicators across corporate, sector and business unit teams, providing guidance and execution support on content strategy, channel selection, and platform optimization. It will provide enterprise strategic leadership over the communications technology landscape, ensuring tools, systems, and processes support effective storytelling at scale, with a deep understanding of using data and insights to improve investment decision making and the overall impact of communications across Eaton.
Working with the Communications Operations leader, the combined team will embed AI into workflows and channels to drive a metrics‑driven culture. The role will also ensure a cohesive, enterprise‑wide approach to content standards, content development and delivery, including oversight of a small content services team, and manage the delivery of communication assets supporting strategic and programmatic content development for our global and regional communicators.
Additionally, the role will build a multi‑year technology roadmap in close partnership with our IT business partners that enables and supports communicators around the globe to focus on high‑value outcomes while strengthening Eaton’s overall corporate voice, culture, story and impact.
- Define Eaton’s enterprise channel and content strategy, advising corporate, segment, and business unit communicators on how to create, adapt, and distribute content effectively across platforms.
- Serve as a center of excellence and build a high‑performing team: providing guidance and execution on audience targeting, cadence, storytelling best practices, etc.
- Lead demand and capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure time is spent on the most value‑add activities, ensuring optimal support and execution ability.
- Build scalable process for intake, prioritization and delivery of communication requests to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality communication outputs.
- Provide enterprise oversight of Eaton’s communications technology ecosystem, including analytics, content management, collaboration, and project management tools, amongst other things.
- Advise on tool selection, implementation, integration, and deprecation, ensuring the technology stack aligns with communications strategy and corporate IT standards.
- Establish governance models that clarify ownership, roles, and best practices for channels, content, and technology across global communications teams.
- Lead enablement efforts, including training and onboarding, to ensure communicators are confident and effective in using tools and channels.
- Provide enterprise‑level visibility into content performance and engagement. Use data and insights to inform recommendations on content mix, channel strategy, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the marketing and brand teams to ensure consistent application of brand, messaging and strategic priorities across all deliverables.
- Seasoned communications leader who thrives in high growth, fast growth environments, understands the intricacies of digital ecosystems and has a deep respect and understanding for cross cultural nuances for both channel, content and behavior.
