GIS Coordination Support Specialist

Location:

Raleigh, NC Duration: 12-month contract

Support specialist needed to assist the GIS Coordination Program Manager in implementing Client initiatives, including administrative support for six subcommittees and technical support for working groups.

The candidate will primarily work remotely and is expected to come into the office one day per week (Tuesdays). The candidate may also need to come onsite on short notice. Candidates should live locally.

• Assist the GIS Coordination Program Manager with planning, developing, and evaluating Council policies, strategies, and initiatives.
• Write charters, technical reports, updates, minutes, framework dataset schemas, and website designs.
• Research technical solutions, create and update geospatial datasets, and develop online content such as applications and websites.
• Compile data from multiple sources, automate data edits using scripting or automation tools, and perform quality checks for publication.
• Utilize ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online tools, including Experience Builder, Story Maps, Survey
  123, and other applications to create online content required by working groups and committees.
• Communicate with working group members to document application or website needs, research implementation solutions, and report options.

• 3+ years experience using Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop suite (Arc Map, ArcGIS Pro) and maintaining GIS data.
• Proficiency in data visualization and cartography, producing static GIS maps.
• 3+ years experience applying geospatial workflows, data management, and analysis.
• Strong understanding of online mapping tools and knowledge of NC One Map.

• Experience in an SDE versioned multi-user environment.
• 3 months or more exposure to the fundamentals of online mapping tools.
