Need Oracle Solaris Specialist (W2/1099)

Contract

Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 experience, including migration from Solaris 10 to 11. Experience with UFS to ZFS conversion, ZFS snapshots, and configuring Solaris Global zones and sparse root, whole root and Solaris 10 branded zones. Experience with Solaris 11 network configuration and Solaris 10/11 print differences. Experience converting processes to run under the Solaris Service Management Facility.

Skills:

Expert knowledge of Solaris 10 and 11 OS design/configuration/implementation/integration including ZFS configuration, zone configuration, and migration support. Strong collaborative skills; able to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical users. Able to work independently, provide leadership, manage complex work, and may have advanced education or extensive industry experience.

Description (including, but not limited to):

Responsibilities for operations and troubleshooting of system environments, server backup and security

Performance tuning and capacity planning

Analysis of system logs and identification of potential issues; troubleshooting reported problems

Migration and integration of new technologies into existing environments

Strong knowledge of Oracle SPARC hardware management

Strong knowledge of DNS, networking and connected systems

Ability to travel within North Carolina as needed (may include overnight travel)

Note: Some travel within the state may be required; all travel arrangements will be handled per applicable per diem rates. Travel should be conducted efficiently and cost-effectively.
