Service Now And Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

Manager Notes
- Most important is of hands-on experience with Service Now and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Strong understanding of Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and CMDB hierarchy concepts.
- Knowledge of Asset Management (AMDB) and Configuration Management processes.
- Broad understanding of IT infrastructure, including concepts such as network adapters, servers, applications, and system relationships.
- Experience with ITIL, risk and controls, and Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM).
- Service Now experience is preferred over specific industry experience.
- Experience with SDLC and USIT methodologies is a plus.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned Service Now integrations to ensure data is successfully transferred into the CMDB.
- Investigate and troubleshoot failed or incomplete data integrations by performing root cause analysis.
- Document issues, track progress through SharePoint, and escalate concerns following established procedures.
- Manage Service Now tasks and incidents related to CMDB updates for assigned integrations.
- Make approved changes within the CMDB to maintain accurate configuration data.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, resolve recurring integration issues, and enhance existing integrations to reduce failed data loads.
- Partner with business stakeholders to review integration performance, discuss upcoming changes, and plan for future enhancements.
- Represent assigned business partners when coordinating integration improvements and resolving CMDB-related issues.
- Participate as a subject matter expert (SME) in discussions regarding CMDB strategies, standards, and implementation approaches.
- Support Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) activities to ensure the CMDB remains accurate and reliable.
