Job Description:
We're seeking a Service Now Developer/Technical Specialist to design, develop, and implement Service Now applications and integrations. The role focuses on ITSM, ITOM, HRSD/WSD, and SPM modules, with responsibilities spanning configuration, scripting, workflow design, and system maintenance. You'll work with business analysts and end-users to translate requirements into scalable solutions, while following ITIL-aligned practices and maintaining clear documentation. Most work is remote, with occasional on-site needs in the Raleigh area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Service Now applications and modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD/WSD, SPM)
- Configure forms, workflows, and custom scripting; implement integrations via APIs/web services
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in scripts, workflows, and integrations
- Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations and integrations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Apply best practices for development, testing, and change management
- Participate in upgrades and maintenance with minimal business disruption
Required / Desired
Skills:
- Proven Service Now experience (3+ years)
- Web apps, networks, email protocols (SMTP/POP3) (3+ years)
- ITIL v3 understanding (3+ years)
- Enterprise IT architecture understanding (3+ years)
- Relational databases knowledge (3+ years)
- Web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTTP) (3+ years)
- Strong time-management and record-keeping (5+ years)
- Ability to translate complex requirements into code (5+ years)
- Positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn (5+ years)
- Commitment to quality service and working both independently and in a team (5+ years)
- LDAP (Active Directory, OpenLDAP, etc.) (3+ years)
- Excellent communication skills (5+ years)
Interview & Logistics:
- In-person interview required
- Local NC residence preferred for occasional on-site needs
- Remote-friendly with occasional Raleigh-area on-site meetings
