Systems Engineer Information Technology Raleigh, NC

Proton Technologies, Inc., an affiliate of Reynolds and Reynolds, is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with strong server, hybrid cloud, and networking experience. This role will support both escalated service requests (Level 2‑3) and assist our Cloud Migration and Projects teams with Azure environment work, hybrid domain configurations, and infrastructure deployments. The ideal candidate will confidently navigate Azure AD / Entra , Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and cloud migration workflows in a fast‑paced MSP environment.

• Prioritize, work, and resolve Level 2–3 tickets in the Engineering Ticket Queue
• Serve as an escalation point for complex server, cloud, and network‑related issues
• Support cloud migration efforts, including Azure AD/Entra , hybrid domain join environments, and server‑to‑cloud transitions
• Troubleshoot and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and related services
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, access points, VPNs, VLANs, and routing
• Evaluate customer systems and networks to identify performance bottlenecks and lead remediation efforts
• Participate in the planning and deployment of new infrastructure, including servers, cloud resources, and network hardware
• Ensure high availability and reliability of client network and system resources

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience with at least 2 years in an MSP environment
• Seasoned in Exchange Management, Server Management, Service Migrations, and Virtual Machines
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, replication, DNS, Group Policy, and IIS services
• Proficient with firewall management, routing, security policies, NAT translation, port forwarding, VPN management, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, diagnostics, and logging
• Experience with Cisco networking: routing protocols and CLI
• Experience managing/setup of Microsoft 365 and GSuite
• Familiarity with Microsoft Server products and Microsoft Exchange Server
• Comfortable with VoIP applications and AWS deployments
• Ability to solve complex problems in a fast‑paced environment and follow through to resolution
