Piper Companies is seeking a Dev Sec Ops Engineer to support the automation, security, and deployment of cloud-based infrastructure for a growing technology-focused organization. The Dev Sec Ops Engineer role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong Python development skills, a passion for automation, and experience working with modern Dev Ops and security practices.
The Dev Sec Ops Engineer role requires you to work onsite 1 day per week in RTP, NC and is a long term contract opportunity.
Responsibilities of the Dev Sec Ops Engineer:
- Develop and maintain Python scripts and tools to automate infrastructure, deployment, and security processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure provisioning and management in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers and security teams to implement Dev Sec Ops best practices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot deployment issues, and optimize operational workflows.
- Support vulnerability scanning, remediation efforts, and security compliance initiatives.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code tools to automate environment deployments and configurations.
- 1-3 years of experience in Dev Ops, Dev Sec Ops , Site Reliability Engineering, or a related role.
- Strong hands‑on Python programming experience with a focus on automation and scripting.
- Experience working in Linux environments and with command‑line tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure Dev Ops.
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, Ansible, or Cloud Formation.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and secure software development practices.
- Salary range: $80,000 - $88,000 depending on experience
