They are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their high-performing team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will act as a principal subject matter expert, overseeing the design and implementation of next-generation AI solutions. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of machine learning models, from initial research to deployment, while ensuring high standards for data quality. This position involves direct leadership of small to medium-sized project teams and the mentorship of junior staff members.

• Collaborating with engineering teams to build and scale advanced AI products.
• Directing the development of machine learning models to address intricate business challenges.
• Interpreting massive datasets to identify trends that drive innovation.
• Establishing new governance frameworks and methodological standards for the data science department.
• Partnering with product leadership to integrate data-driven solutions into customer-facing applications.
• Providing technical guidance and best practices for the broader analytics team.

• A Masters degree with at least 7 to 10 years of professional experience, or a PhD with over 6 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced academic background in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field.
• Deep technical expertise in large language models and transformer architectures such as BERT, T5, and RoBERTa.
• Practical experience implementing generative AI and LLMs including GPT, Claude, and Mistral.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• Demonstrated experience with big data ecosystems including Spark, Hadoop, or AWS.
• Strong background in various algorithms including deep learning, random forests, and gradient boosting.

The base salary for this position typically ranges from 115,400 to 192,300 dollars per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
