Senior DBDatabase Administrator – OpenShift

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DB2 Database Administrator – Open Shift position for our client.

Location: Atlanta, GA / Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC — No Remote

Duration: Ongoing Contract

• Administer and support DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments.
• Design, build, migrate, configure, tune, and maintain DB2 databases.
• Support DB2/Db2U on Red Hat Open Shift/Kubernetes
  , including storage, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Lead or support on-premises DB2 to Open Shift migrations as part of database modernization initiatives.
• Perform SQL development, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and problem resolution.
• Manage database jobs and maintenance using CRON, ESP, or similar scheduling tools
  .
• Troubleshoot DB2 and Open Shift performance, availability, and stability issues.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams throughout migration and production support.
• Support IBM Q Replication (QREP), preferred.

• DB2 DBA / Database Administration

• SQL / Performance Tuning

• 7+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in Open Shift or Kubernetes
  .
• Proven experience migrating on-premises DB2 databases to Red Hat Open Shift
  .
• Strong SQL and DB2 performance tuning experience.
• Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
• Large-scale database migration/modernization experience preferred.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
