Associate Infrastructure Engineer – Network Automation Job Raleigh area,North Carolina USA,IT/Tech

Design and build enterprise infrastructure technology platforms and systems across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware domains
Create foundational capabilities for automating Day 0 and Day 1 network implementations and repeatable Day 2 configuration changes
Build and establish a new CI/CD automation product for enterprise network infrastructure
Apply automation, monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure high availability and performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve infrastructure standards and processes
Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues affecting infrastructure performance and reliability
Support compliance with technology strategies, standards, and governance
Deploy infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures for operational consistency and knowledge sharing
Contribute to technical innovation and advancement of infrastructure capabilities
Support infrastructure deliverables and solutions with technical project teams
Recommend enhancements to technical systems and processes
Identify practical AI use cases to improve engineering efficiency, configuration quality, testing, and operational decision-making

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent education and related training
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering
Understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware
2+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure automation, Net Dev Ops , platform engineering, or a related discipline preferred
Experience designing and establishing a network automation platform, CI/CD capability, or infrastructure automation product from concept through enterprise adoption preferred
Experience with Git Lab and CI/CD pipeline development preferred
Hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform preferred
Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code practices using Terraform, Open Policy Agent (OPA), and cloud-native tooling preferred
Proficiency in Python and scripting languages preferred
Experience automating Day 0, Day 1, and Day 2 network operations preferred
Strong understanding of source-of-truth and network inventory solutions, preferably Net Box, and API integrations preferred
Foundational network engineering experience including routing, switching, data center networking, network services, configuration management, and Cisco and Arista automation preferred
Experience developing automated validation, testing, configuration compliance, error handling, rollback, auditability, and change governance capabilities preferred
Experience deploying and supporting solutions in Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments preferred
Experience in highly regulated industries preferred
Ability to evaluate and implement AI-enabled engineering capabilities preferred
Ability to collaborate across network engineering, cybersecurity, platform engineering, architecture, operations, risk, compliance, and change management teams preferred
Experience mentoring infrastructure engineers in automation, Git-based workflows, testing practices, and modern software engineering methodologies preferred
Self-directed and highly accountable, with ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and deliver results with limited oversight
Comfortable balancing legacy infrastructure support, modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies
