This is a WELL COMPENSATED, full-time, on-site Sign Language Interpreter role based in Raleigh, NC. The interpreter will provide real-time sign language interpreting in an educational setting. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating communication between Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing individuals, accurately conveying spoken language into sign language and vice versa, and maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. The role also involves preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant materials, collaborating with clients and colleagues to clarify communication needs, and demonstrating cultural sensitivity when working with diverse communities.

• Ability to effectively use Sign Language and demonstrate strong Interpreting skills in educational settings.
• Experience with Interpreting between spoken and signed languages to ensure an accurate and clear communication.
• Knowledge of Deaf Culture and the ability to apply this understanding to support respectful, culturally competent interactions.
• Strong Communication skills, including active listening and clear, professional interaction with clients and colleagues.
• Relevant certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA 3.5 or higher, RID.
• Experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in educational settings is beneficial.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to professional codes of conduct, and manage sensitive information responsibly.
• Capacity to work on-site in Raleigh with reliability, punctuality, and strong professional ethics.
