Overview
The civil litigation associate position offers a wide range of challenging litigation work, manages various phases of litigation for assigned cases, all phases of discovery, appears before state and federal courts, performs legal research, drafts pleadings, motions and briefs, conducts depositions, develops facts, makes legal arguments, reports case updates to managing attorney and clients in defense of our clients. This position will develop strategies for litigated matters, including commercial, regulatory, product liability, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, personal injury, construction defect, professional liability, and insurance-coverage matters.
Responsibilities- Manage various phases of litigation for assigned cases.
- Oversee all phases of discovery and appear before state and federal courts.
- Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions and briefs, and conduct depositions.
- Develop case facts, make persuasive legal arguments, and report case updates to the managing attorney and clients in defense of our clients.
- Develop strategies for litigated matters across practice areas including commercial, regulatory, product liability, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, personal injury, construction defect, professional liability, and insurance-coverage matters.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial litigation, insurance defense, professional liability defense, and/or construction defect litigation.
- Strong research and writing capabilities.
- Ideal candidate has significant experience in trial, deposition, legal writing, and legal research.
- Bar license in the state of North Carolina.
