Job Title:
Regulatory / Legal Operations Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative professional who thrives in fast-paced, communication-driven environments and demonstrates strong attention to detail. This role requires close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders, both onsite and through Microsoft Teams, to support regulatory and legal workflow processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, proofread, and perform quality assurance checks within the Discovery workflow using Microsoft Word and Share Point
  • Draft, edit, and file a variety of legal and regulatory documents, including petitions, applications, testimony, discovery responses, orders, settlement agreements, and correspondence using Data Site, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and related tools
  • Review, proofread, cite-check, and perform quality control of regulatory pleadings and exhibits prior to submission to the North Carolina and/or South Carolina Utility Commission
  • Track and manage regulatory dockets, ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines and timely responses
  • Conduct factual research and gather documentation from internal departments, regulatory commissions, and data repositories; compile and summarize findings
  • Provide support to outside counsel and consultants participating in regulatory proceedings
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint sites, Data Site folders, SFTP sites, workflows, and other electronic document repositories
  • Communicate professionally with external counsel, regulatory agencies, leadership, attorneys, clients, and team members
  • Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research using Lexis Nexis, commission websites, and other web-based resources
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and strong decision-making skills supporting business and regulatory objectives
Basic /

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred but not required
  • Preferred fields of study include Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Education, or Paralegal Studies/Certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience working with document management systems and collaboration platforms
  • Strong organizational and research skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
