Ascendo Resources is partnering with a reputable, regional law firm client that is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for their office in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role will provide administrative support in complex commercial litigation, commercial creditor bankruptcy, and collections matters. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and draft pleadings, affidavits, orders, and other legal documents for attorney review.
- Review and edit legal filings and correspondence to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Maintain and monitor the firm’s calendaring system to track court dates, filing deadlines, and other critical milestones.
- Coordinate and organize documents, records, reports, and other materials necessary for discovery and case preparation.
- Assist attorneys in drafting and compiling discovery responses and related filings.
- Exercise sound judgment when evaluating case information and provide informed recommendations to supervising attorneys.
- Communicate professionally with court personnel, opposing counsel, local counsel, and clients as needed.
- Support attorneys and staff with additional case-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, with substantial exposure to complex commercial litigation, creditor bankruptcy matters, and collections cases.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
Paralegal certification is a plus. - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Excellent drafting and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a legal team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Typing speed of 50+ WPM.
