Purchasing Assistant
The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring goods and services necessary for the organization's operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assist the purchasing team in sourcing and negotiating terms with vendors.
- Acquire goods and services necessary for the organization's operations.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and vendor agreements.
- Manage and support administrative tasks related to procurement.
- Handle inventory management tasks as needed.
- Experience with purchase orders, purchasing, and procurement processes.
- Strong administrative support skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management.
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or administrative support.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to learn and work within the company ERP system.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Open-minded and motivated self-starter with exposure to purchasing and inventory practices.
The role requires working on-site five days a week.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
