May Apply”    This position will assist the Fleet Support Manager for Fleet and Materials Management Unit. Coordinates the Shop Equipment and Tool Replacement program. Works with the Equipment Depot Superintendent, and the 14 Division Area Equipment Superintendents to help determine shop equipment needs and procure new or replacement equipment for the shops. Develop and updates program timelines to ensure activities remain on schedule and within budget.

Works directly with vendors to obtain quotes and enter in requisitions for shop equipment. Works with NCDOT Purchasing and State Purchase & Contract to establish contracts as needed for shop equipment procurements. Reviews vendor performance, analyzes purchasing options, and recommends cost effective solutions. Analyze program and fleet data and prepare reports that support planning, budgeting, and operational decisions. Includes evaluation of equipment needs, lifecycle data, utilization, repair, operational costs, and readiness metrics.

Prepares recurring and special purpose reports to support program planning, budgeting, and management decisions. Oversee the equipment and small tool inventories of the shops at the Equipment Depot, perform spot checks of small tool inventories and assist with managing the annual shop equipment and small tool inventories. Provides guidance on equipment requests, procurement requirements, documentation procedures, and program timelines. Ensure all equipment received is accurately captured in required documentation to support timely invoice payment.

Supports cross unit coordination to ensure program alignment with operational needs. Administer the Fleet Vendor Loyalty Program. Specifically, the Ford Pro Parts Loyalty Rewards (PLR) system, to maximize financial earn backs and volume rebates. Track and reconcile bi-annual purchasing data against Fleet Identification Numbers to guarantee 100% recapture of eligible rebate funds. Reinvest recovered loyalty funds strategically into shop budget to procure specialized tools, shop equipment, and inventory.

* Demonstrated ability to analyze programs and fleet data and prepare reports that support planning, budgeting, and operational decisions
* Demonstrated ability to communicate with personnel such as with Area Equipment Superintendents, vendors, Purchasing, and internal business units
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure project activities stay on schedule and within budget
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
