The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

Salary Range: $37,377 - $65,408    Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position is responsible for assisting a Correctional Housing Unit Manager II in the management and operation of an institutional housing unit. Job responsibilities include; but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitoring of the unit’s case management system which entails providing individual counseling, participating in group sessions, and maintaining reports related to an offender’s progress.
- Supervising staff and in the absence of the Correctional Housing Unit Manger II, assuming responsibility for the overall management of the housing unit.
- Serving on institution classification committees.
