Our client, a leading innovator in the food and beverage manufacturing space, is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Operations Director to lead all plant operations for a high‑volume food & beverage manufacturing facility in the Raleigh, NC area. This leader will drive operational excellence, ensure production efficiency, maintain world‑class food safety and quality standards, and champion a people‑first culture. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in food manufacturing, a track record of Lean implementation, and the ability to lead through influence in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations across production, maintenance, warehousing, sanitation, and quality support teams.
  • Ensure plant compliance with all applicable FDA, USDA, GMP, and FSMA requirements.
  • Drive OEE improvement, capacity optimization, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Implement best‑in‑class manufacturing practices to support growth and scalability.
  • Directly manage and develop department managers and supervisors.
  • Build a high‑performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and engagement.
  • Champion plant safety programs to uphold a zero‑incident mindset.
  • Partner closely with Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to ensure adherence to customer requirements and product specifications.
  • Manage operations budgets, capital projects, and resource allocation.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on raw material planning, inventory management, and logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in food & beverage or CPG manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF/BRC, GMPs).
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean/CI initiatives;
    Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automation and modern manufacturing technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast‑paced, complex manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and change‑management skills.
