ROLE

SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment
• Ability to make program edits at the machine for CNC equipment
• Machining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerances
• Accurate p arts measurement using tools such as, but not limited to
• Outside micrometer
• Inside micrometer
• Depth micrometer
• Digital, dial and vernier calipers
• Scales
• Maintain ing an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiency
• Accurately complet ing all paperwork associated with tasks being performed
• Keep ing up to date with all required trainings
• Work ing on a variety of parts and processes and may work across multiple machines
• Can resolve most problems and questions within a defined set of parameters
• May provide guidance to lower-level employees

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Typically, 3 - 5 years' experience doing similar work
• Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation
• Strong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancing
• For CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programming
• Knowledge of fixtur ing and safe / effective work holding

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/

SKILLS:

• Experience working with cast materials
• Experience with basic rigging and use of overhead cranes
• Firm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades
• Understanding of basic cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut
• Previous experience machining stainless alloys

SITE SPECIFIC DETAILS

• First shift positions Monday thru Friday, 06:30-1500
• Second shift hours Monday thru Friday, 14:45-23:15
• Overtime as required ( required overtime will have 36-hour notice)
