Our client is a successful and growing UK manufacturing business based in the North East of England, specialising in the production of high-quality products for customers across the UK.
The business has significantly expanded its production capacity over the past decade, investing heavily in modern, automated equipment while retaining the skilled manual processes required to manufacture a wide range of bespoke products.
With a workforce of more than 150 employees, including a dedicated production team of over 50 people, this is an exciting time to join the organisation. The production department continues to receive significant investment, with a management team focused on driving positive change, improving processes and challenging the status quo.
The RoleWorking as a Production Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring that equipment runs to agreed standards for speed, cleanliness and quality.
You will play an important role in achieving daily production targets, maintaining product quality and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- - Ensuring machinery operates to agreed standards of speed, cleanliness and quality
- - Following efficient and safe production methods at all times
- - Monitoring production processes and reporting any errors or deviations to the Team Leader
- - Working closely with Engineers to report equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime
- - Supporting the team in achieving daily production targets
- - Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and putting forward ideas to improve processes and procedures
- - Carrying out quality control checks and accurately recording results
- - Ensuring all production leaving your area meets the required specifications
- - Completing blade tracking following every blade change
- - Maintaining a clean and safe working environment throughout the shift
- - Completing documented start-of-shift equipment checks
- - Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses and assisting with investigations where required
- - Ensuring all equipment is operated in accordance with safe working procedures
- - Complying with all site HSE requirements, including PPE, fire procedures, machine guarding and COSHH
- - Developing a strong understanding of the machinery within your area and being able to demonstrate its safe and effective operation
We are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious and takes pride in producing high-quality work.
You will ideally have:- - A valid Counterbalance FLT Certificate would be beneficial but not essential
- - Previous experience working within a production, manufacturing or industrial environment
- - Experience operating production machinery or automated equipment
- - A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- - A good eye for quality and attention to detail
- - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- - The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- - A flexible approach to working and the ability to adapt to changing production requirements
- - A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems
- - The ability to follow processes and procedures accurately
- - A willingness to learn and develop knowledge across multiple areas of production
