A Brief Overview

Communications Intern – Global Medical Affairs The Communications Intern for Global Medical Affairs will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of strategic communication initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands‑on experience in the medical aesthetics industry. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for science and strong communication skills who is eager to contribute to meaningful projects that elevate the visibility of Merz Aesthetics' scientific innovation.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the intern will support content development, media outreach, and stakeholder coordination. If you are detail‑oriented, eager to learn, and excited to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communication Support
    • Writing, editing, and formatting content for external and internal use on various communications channels.
    • Support milestone communications for publications, and other scientific conferences.
    • Contribute to internal campaigns designed to inform employees about updates and scientific achievements.
    • Help develop infographics, videos, intranet updates, and other digital assets that translate complex scientific data into accessible content for diverse audiences.
    • Conduct research on industry trends and best practices in medical and scientific communication.
    • Support the development of performance reports for communication initiatives, leveraging KPIs and analytics tools.
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and develop newsworthy content.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify storytelling opportunities that highlight Merz Aesthetics’ leadership in innovation.
    • Support engagement with vendors and media partners, assisting in the preparation of communication toolkits and press materials.
  • Project Management
    • Track and manage timelines for communication initiatives.
    • Assist in coordinating with third‑party vendors for content development, analytics, and other project needs.
    • Maintain and organize a repository of communication resources, including press releases, media coverage, and campaign metrics.
Minimum Requirements
  • Previous internship experience in communications, PR, or social media
  • Availability to come to the office three times per week and to work the entire summer
  • Interest in editorial storytelling, brand communications, and/or AI optimization
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in the pharmaceuticals, aesthetics, or healthcare industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional, global team environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Media expertise:
    Working knowledge of the latest media and social media platforms, consumer behaviors, and social media best practices

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or coursework in scientific communication, digital marketing, or media relations.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and multi‑channel communication strategies.
Education

Minimum Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior at an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Pursuing a Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Life Sciences.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical, or scientific communications.
Additional Information Program Length:
  • 11‑week program (Projected Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 13, 2026)
