Impact Global Health Alliance is a nonprofit organization working with communities and partners to reduce preventable maternal and child deaths through evidence-based, community-driven health systems strengthening.
2026 marks the final year of implementation of IGHA’s Strategic Plan (2022–2026). This is a pivotal communications year: we are consolidating results, documenting impact, and positioning the Alliance for its next phase of growth.
We seek an experienced Writer & Communications Consultant to tell this story clearly, consistently, and compellingly across all platforms.
Scope of WorkThe goal of this position is to build and deliver multiple, parallel content streams appropriate to our key audiences with the aim of building awareness and understanding of Impact Global Health Alliance and engagement with the work we do.
The consultant will work directly with the Executive Director to align on scope, cadence and thematic focus for the integrated content deliverables. They will balance emotional storytelling with data/evidence-based outcomes and translate program results into accessible, donor- and community-facing language. The consultant will help ensure a consistent IGHA voice across all materials, reflecting results, strategic priorities, and lessons learned during this final year of the Strategic Plan.
The consultant will provide dedicated content development and communications guidance for the deliverables below (not exhaustive):
- Annual Impact Report
- Monthly e-newsletters
- Website copy updates
- Two printed newsletters
- Postcards and short-form campaign pieces
- Social media content and campaign execution
- Development and curation of content library and calendar of themes
- Other TBD
Consultant will have final creative accountability for these deliverables and will partner closely with the project manager to ensure each is executed flawlessly. Specifically:
- Draft, edit, and finalize copy for all print and digital communications
- Incorporate technical feedback and ensure accuracy and clarity
- Maintain consistent messaging across platforms and products
- Review printed materials and envelopes prior to mailing
- Develop and post social media content (estimated one post per week) across Linked In, Facebook, and Instagram (with potential expansion to X)
- Review, update, and help implement automated email journeys for four key audience personas
- Support the Director in building and maintaining a curated story library (minimum 10 stories in 2026)
- Support communications for faith-based outreach and volunteer engagement programs
Communications produced through this consultancy will serve multiple audiences:
- Individual donors and major supporters
- Faith-based partners and congregations
- Volunteers and peer-to-peer fundraisers, and their networks
- Institutional partners and collaborators
- Social media followers and subscribers to our email list (n=3000)
- Heavy Hitters (High-value donors of $1000+)
- Newbies (1st time givers in 2024 or 2025 YTD)
- Lapsed Donors (donated in 2022 or 2023 but not 2024 or 2025 YTD)
