Position SummaryThe Parish Ministry Coordinator supports the life and mission of the parish by organizing ministries, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and fostering strong communication within the parish community. This part‑time role offers flexible scheduling and requires evening and weekend availability based on parish events and liturgical needs.
Key Responsibilities Ministry Coordination- Serve as liaison between parish leadership and ministry leaders
- Support existing ministries and assist in developing new ministries as needed
- Maintain updated ministry guidelines, schedules, and contact lists
- Ensure ministries align with the parish mission and values
- Maintain a welcoming and hospitable process for new volunteers, serving as a primary point of contact.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new volunteers
- Match parishioners’ gifts and interests with ministry opportunities
- Provide ongoing support, appreciation, and recognition for volunteers
- Develop and implement strategies for volunteer engagement and retention
- Collaborate with Marketing Team to communicate ministry needs through parish bulletin, website, and social media
- Schedule and coordinate ministry leadership meetings and trainings
- Track volunteer hours and ministry participation
- Prepare reports as requested by parish leadership
- Collaborate with clergy and staff to support parish initiatives
- Experience working with volunteers or in church/ministry settings preferred
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 30 days of hire.
