Position Summary:

The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh is seeking a mission-driven and organized Coordinator of Married Life to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Director of Marriage and Family Life, the Coordinator serves the Catholic community of Eastern North Carolina by supporting parish leaders and parishioners in areas related to Marriage, Family and Fertility Awareness, providing such support to the Catholic Community in the area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carries out the administrative duties related to his/her main job requirements such as emails, phone calls, forms submittals, etc.
  • Responds to the needs of parishes by providing prompt response, or training for parish leaders or formation for couples.
  • Coordinates, runs and supports different activities related to marriage, family and fertility awareness, mainly under the format of workshops.
  • Runs and coordinates communication campaigns through different media channels.
  • Coordinates the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass.
  • Participates and leads people in prayer and worship.
  • Proclaims the Gospel with word and action and shares the kerygma intentionally.
  • Support other Office of Evangelization and Discipleship activities when needed.
  • Coordinates the preparation and submittal of financial forms on behalf of the department of Marriage and Family Life.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Family Studies, or related area is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in pastoral ministry (Parish or Diocesan level).
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic teachings, practices, and the mission of the Diocese.
  • Professional demeanor reflective of the values and mission of the Diocese of Raleigh.
  • Demonstrated experience in event organization.
  • Excellent written/oral skills and public speaking experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide diversity of ethnic backgrounds.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and open to learning new ministry-related technologies.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) as needed.
  • Discretion and prudence in maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
