The Clinical Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and families through the implementation of individualized care plans. Responsibilities are based on patient developmental and healthcare needs, physician orders, and the standards of nursing practice. Nurses actively support Wake Med’s Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model, which emphasizes dignity, respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient physical, psychological, and socioeconomic status
- Implement and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Dispense medications and provide treatment in line with physician orders
- Counsel patients and families, addressing concerns and questions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Conduct medication reviews and ensure safe management
- Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) – valid RN license required - Education:
Diploma in Nursing or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required) - Experience:
No prior experience required (entry-level applicants welcome) - Strong communication and patient-focused care skills
