We are currently searching for Advanced Practice Providers, preferably with urology experience but open to strong and motivated new graduate candidates, to join our NC Urology team at Rex/UNC Hospital and Rex/UNC Holly Springs Hospital (APP would work in both locations).
The APP will work alongside a growing team of four Surgeons and two APPs to deliver patient‑centered comprehensive urologic care.
This position will focus primarily on inpatient clinical care and management (evaluating ER and inpatient consults, rounding on postoperative patients, performing bedside procedures, and patient care coordination), outpatient clinical care and operating room coverage (if needed); the hospital and outpatient clinic are side by side in both locations.
Outpatient clinic will entail management of a variety of acute and chronic urologic conditions (primarily general urology and urologic oncology), preoperative and postoperative patients, wound care, foley catheter care/management, patient triaging, and other roles as needed to support the surgeons and team.
This position will span Monday through Friday. Call is required one night weekly, and one weekend per month.
ResponsibilitiesMaintains clear comprehensive yet concise records of all aspects of patient care. Maintains essential knowledge of general disease and pathologic processes. Maintains extensive knowledge of their specialty literature including awareness of developing areas. Consistently derives correct diagnoses through synthesis of clinical data and proper selection and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Develops comprehensive differential diagnoses for patients. Revises the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient.
Prioritizes work and assists staff to provide prompt and efficient client flow. Consistently maintains high productivity according to identified standards. Leads/participates in projects to improve productivity. Appropriately performs medical procedures consistent with departmental guidelines, privileging, and clinical roles/responsibilities.
Leads/participates in systems improvements.
