Position Summary
:
Supervise Associate Degree Nursing or Practical Nursing students in a clinical environment, in a Medical–Surgical, Pediatrics, Gerontology, Critical/Acute Care, or long‑term‑care setting; may be inpatient or outpatient. Ensure that students adhere to facility‑specific guidelines and policies, as well as NC Board of Nursing pre‑licensure, AB Tech Community College, and Nursing department policies.

Duties
- Supervise first or second‑year nursing students in a clinical environment, in a Medical–Surgical, Pediatrics, Gerontology, Critical/Acute Care, or long‑term‑care setting; may be inpatient or outpatient.
- Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the nursing program.
- Ensure that students adhere to facility‑specific guidelines and policies, as well as the NC Board of Nursing pre‑licensure, AB Tech Community College, and Nursing department policies.
- Educator must maintain professional certifications, competency in the area of assigned responsibility and knowledge of best practices; must have current knowledge of nursing practice for the RN and LPN, seek opportunities for professional development, and perform duties as assigned by Department Chairperson, Associate Chairperson, or Clinical Coordinator.
- These duties may include mandatory orientation sessions on campus, as well as in the clinical setting, as mandated by the clinical agency.

Minimum Requirements
- Hold a current unrestricted license to practice as an RN in NC.
- Hold a baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years patient care experience within the past five years as a registered nurse.
