Registered Nurse, RN- Acute Care

Position Overview

Novant Health is hiring a Medical‑Surgical (Med‑Surg) registered nurse for the night shift at our New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Sign‑on bonus up to $30,000 and relocation support up to $7,500.

• Full‑time, 0.9 FTE, 72 hours per two weeks, 12‑hour night shift (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.)

• Medicine IV

The Medicine IV unit has 41 beds with a patient ratio averaging 5‑6:1, moving toward 10:2 with RN, LPN and CNA assigned to each patient. The team thrives on communication, ongoing support and training.

• Provide specialized care and monitor patients closely.
• Work with healthcare teams to develop care plans.
• Manage complex conditions and perform necessary procedures.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and perform life‑saving interventions.
• Educate patients and families on care and treatment options.
• Accurately document patient information and interventions in medical records.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Current valid North Carolina RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• Minimum 1 year acute nursing experience.
• For inactive or lapsed licenses: completion of a board‑approved refresher course and reinstatement application within one year of completion.
