Description:
Cross posting after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call-offs or additional time off on the unit could possibly lead to cancellations.
This is a fast-paced unit.
Nurses must stay on top of pain management for orthopedic and spine patients.
Ratios are expected to be 5-6 patients per nurse, but can flex to 7 in extreme cases.
Travelers could be required to float to other medical-surgical units within the facility.
Every other weekend work is required.
If a registered nurse calls out on a weekend, they will need to make up that time on a weekend.
The patient population consists of orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical patients.
The average daily census is 37, with 39 rooms and 39 beds.
Covid patients are managed on the same units unless they require ICU care.
Nurses must demonstrate customer service orientation.
Multiple pain medications may be administered due to a high post-surgical orthopedic population.
Nurses are expected to provide care in a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary support teams.
