Night shift (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) covering a 24/7 busy cardiology service line.

Cardiology experience preferred.

Summary – An Advanced Practice Provider functions as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high‑quality, cost‑effective care to patients within the scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician. The APP reflects the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical – obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets diagnostic tests, develops differential diagnoses, implements treatment plans including prescribing evidence‑based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines, conducts preventive health screening, maintains clear, comprehensive records, stays current with specialty literature, maintains high productivity, performs medical procedures consistent with guidelines, and leads or participates in productivity improvement projects.
  • Education – educates clients and families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow‑up; collaborates with clinicians, staff, and students to promote continuity of care; develops educational materials; provides instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries, and students; attends education programs as needed.
  • Leadership – provides instruction and precepting to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries, and students through lectures, training, CE, rounds, morning reports, and staff meetings; participates in community and network outreach; demonstrates understanding of the healthcare context and applies this knowledge to improve delivery; leads or participates in systems improvements.
  • Professional – interacts with patients and families respectfully and timely; collaborates with coworkers and team members professionally; responds quickly to meet patient needs and resolve problems; shares responsibility for workload and accepts accountability for outcomes.
  • Quality/Research – engages in continuous quality improvement, identifies and implements processes for improvement, consults with management on problem solving and decision making, leads interdisciplinary teams, initiates and revises protocols or guidelines to reflect evidence‑based changes, influences policy‑making bodies to improve patient care, and develops new clinical programs or services within the department to enhance care.
Qualifications
  • Education Requirements – Completion of an accredited graduate‑level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensure/Certification Requirements – Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina; board certification if required by the department; DEA registration.
  • Professional Experience Requirements – No prior experience required.
