Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care - PRN

Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care

Job Type: PRN | Variable

Schedule:

12-hour shifts, PRN as needed. May be day or night shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a), weekends and holidays.

Team Overview

Join our 12-bed Progressive Care/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Staff includes RNs, CNAs, and Telemetry Techs providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Qualifications
  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision; must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
