Position Overview
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Health Care Supervisor (S) to oversee Health Care Technician I’s at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. The supervisor will provide coaching, mentoring, and supervision, ensuring resident care, staff monitoring, and implementation of person‑centered plans.
Responsibilities- Provide direct supervision and performance feedback to Health Care Technicians, monitoring through formal and informal observations.
- Act as the floater between assigned area homes, rotating each shift, and ensuring coverage and staffing numbers.
- Perform resident care and staff monitoring throughout shifts, excluding established paperwork time.
- Implement residents’ care plans and coordinate efforts of the trainer staff to provide direct supervision.
- Integrate individualized therapeutic recommendations from the Person Centered Plan into activities such as self‑determination, communication, pro‑social behavior, motor skills, positioning, eating, and assistive technology.
- Provide coaching, modeling and mentoring to staff, and on‑the‑job training for probationary and permanent employees.
- Ensure skills taught during initial month training are fully generalized and maintained in natural environments.
- Administer mandatory COVID‑19 vaccinations in accordance with facility policy.
- Maintain required vaccinations per facility Vaccination Policy and comply with all safety regulations.
- Serve as the mandatory reporting point during adverse weather events and report or stay over as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Documented experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Computer literacy and CPR certification.
- Supervisory experience in a large residential facility and valid driver’s license.
- Experience providing daily living activities, goal program implementation, personal care, communication, and behavior modification for adults.
- Two years of closely related work experience.
- Knowledge of person‑centered planning.
1st Shift (7:00 am – 3:30 pm), Monday – Friday and every other weekend.
