Nursing Supervisor job description:Job duties and responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate nurse schedule
- Assign patients to nurses
- Ensure adherence to all relevant nursing standards
- Maintain quality assurance of nursing documentation and client records
- Create reports for senior management
- Ensure compliance with nursing policies and procedures
- Educate and train new nurses
- Evaluate nurses’ engagement and performance
- Inform patients’ family members about medical procedures and doctors’ instructions
- Provide psychological and emotional support to patients and their family and friends
- Provide clinical expertise in the management of medical and psychiatric emergencies
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous working experience as a Nursing Supervisor for 1 year(s)
- Associate’s Degree in nursing (minimum)
- Any additional certification in healthcare administration will be considered an advantage
- Valid nursing license
- In‑depth knowledge of hospital procedures
- Outstanding patient management skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Great organizational and time management
- Problem solver with a positive attitude
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse (RN) will plan, coordinate, provide and manage nursing care, services, and health education to our residents.
These positions require patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the residents in a gentle and empathetic manner. Some other responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) may include:
Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities- Supervise the care/services provided by CNAs and other staff.
- Coordinate the nursing care of residents on the unit, assuring all assigned staff are capable of providing appropriate care to them.
- Provide safe and accurate medication related interventions to residents.
- Accurately transcribe and coordinate the implementation of physician orders.
- Perform nursing assessments regarding the health status of residents. Notify the physician of changes in status and promptly implement and document new orders.
- Develop a plan of care based on assessment, implementing nursing care.
- Select and institute appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a resident’s condition and /or prevent complications.
