Position SummaryJoin our dynamic Emergency Department team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients experiencing behavioral health crises and medical emergencies. As a Registered Nurse in Zone 4, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care in a specialized behavioral health holding area designed to support patient safety, dignity, and recovery.
About Zone 4Zone 4 is an 8-bed, non-designated holding area located within the Emergency Department. The unit features private rooms dedicated to behavioral health patients and is designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies. Nurses benefit from a 1:5 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, allowing for focused, patient-centered care and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with behavioral health and medical needs.
- Provide compassionate care to patients experiencing behavioral health crises while ensuring a safe environment.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
- Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health specialists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in a fast‑paced emergency care setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
- Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and quality outcomes.
