, located on the 7th floor of the Heart and Vascular Hospital

This 24-bed intermediate care unit provides care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions and multiple co-morbidities. Our team thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate patient care are at the center of everything we do.
Unit OverviewThe 7 HV Cardiac Medicine Unit provides intermediate-level care for patients with:
- Heart failure
- Dysrhythmias
- Myocardial infarctions
- Pre- and post-cardiac and vascular procedures
- Medical patients with significant cardiac histories and complex co-morbidities
Each patient room is equipped with GE bedside monitors and in-room computers
, supporting advanced patient monitoring and real-time documentation.
Care is delivered through a collaborative interdisciplinary team model
, including Clinical Nurses, APPs, physicians, pharmacists, care managers, chaplains, patient care technicians, unit secretaries, and specialized telemetry technicians in the Telemetry Command Center
, providing continuous rhythm surveillance and clinical support.
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
- Assess, monitor, and manage patient status, including cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and response to treatment
- Care for patients before and after cardiac and vascular procedures, as well as those admitted with medical cardiac conditions
- Safely administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips and therapies, in accordance with policies and protocols
