Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse

Jobot is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical Stepdown unit, providing high-acuity, evidence-based care to patients transitioning from ICU or requiring advanced monitoring. In this role, you'll perform comprehensive assessments, manage complex medication and IV therapies, interpret telemetry, and collaborate closely with physicians and the care team to optimize outcomes. You'll educate patients and families, support safe discharges, and document efficiently in EMRs.

• Provide direct nursing care to medical stepdown patients using evidence-based practices
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring, including telemetry
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the EMR system
• Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Support smooth transitions of care from ICU and to lower-acuity units or discharge
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based projects
• Precept or mentor less experienced nurses as needed
