Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (36 hours per week)
Highlights:
- Cardiac telemetry unit with comprehensive post-surgical and interventional cardiology patient population
- 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with 24-hour unit orientation
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management
- Contract lengths available from 13 to 26 weeks
- Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week period
- Float availability required as needed; no on-call requirement
Requirements:
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
- Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Step-Down experience preferred
- First-time travel nurses accepted with qualifying cardiac experience
- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Availability to work holidays and provide storm/emergency team coverage as assigned
Patient Population:
- Adult and geriatric patients with diverse cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions
- Post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, Watchman procedures, vascular surgeries, and interventional cardiology procedures
- Telemetry monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Clinical Skills & Equipment:
- Cardiac drip management and titration
- Femoral sheath management and removal, arterial line experience preferred
- Chest tube management, central and peripheral line care
- EKG interpretation, doppler assessment, bladder scanning
- Use of TR bands, Fem-stop devices, and epicardial pacing wires
- Non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP
