Veterinary Technician; RVT

Westbrook Animal Hospital in Burlington, NC, is looking for an experienced RVT - licensed veterinary technician or are willing to train the right newly licensed technician to add to their dedicated team. Working together to establish and uphold the highest standards of veterinary care, we believe that to care for our patients, we must also care for each other. Position Requirements:

• Current NC veterinary technician license
• Able to safely restrain dogs and cats for medical procedures.
• Provides animal care by determining animal requirements.
• Monitors, adjusts, and documents anesthesia depths and patient's vitals while under anesthesia.
• Feeds and cares for animals.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Maintains records.
• Completes laboratory tests and studies and diagnostic imaging.
• Takes vital signs and collects samples.
• Administers medications, drugs, and vaccines.
• Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
• Explains animal status to owners.
• Prepares surgery table instruments.
• Completes local/regional anesthesia.
• Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
