Temporary Dairy Farm Research Technician
Primary responsibilities include providing skilled animal care during milking shifts (between the hours of 6am – 11am OR 6pm – 11pm) for dairy cows in the parlor. Additional duties involve operating a skid steer for manure management, moving cows from the free stall barn to the parlor, maintaining parlor cleanliness, and assisting with other farm chores including cow and calf care.
Work Schedule: Weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts with hours ranging from 5:00am – 1:00pm. Hours may vary due to operational needs of the farm.
Responsibilities- Provide animal care during milking shifts.
- Operate skid steer for manure management and cow movements.
- Maintain parlor cleanliness.
- Assist with farm chores, cow and calf care.
- Other work/responsibilities as required.
- Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
- Knowledge of farm operations, tractor experience, and a minimum of 1 year of large animal care experience or education.
