We are seeking a detail-oriented CMT Technician I to perform field testing and inspection of construction materials including concrete, soils, aggregate, and asphalt. You will conduct sampling and testing in compliance with ASTM, ACI, and project specifications, document test results, and prepare detailed daily field reports. The role requires effective communication with project managers, contractors, and clients, as well as maintaining testing equipment and ensuring proper calibration.

Commitment to safety policies and procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Perform field testing and inspection of construction materials such as concrete, soils, aggregate, and asphalt.

+ Conduct sampling and testing according to ASTM, ACI, and project specifications.

+ Document test results and prepare detailed daily field reports.

+ Communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and clients.

+ Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.

+ Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times.

+ Travel to local job sites throughout the area.

Essential Skills

+ 1-2 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) or related field services.

+ ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification (required, non-negotiable).

+ Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Additional certifications such as NICET, NCDOT, ICC, or nuclear gauge certification.

+ Experience working on commercial or transportation projects.

Work Environment

The position requires working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions. You will travel to local job sites throughout the area. This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
