ICC Special Inspector

This position will perform complex field testing and inspection of construction materials to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, and concrete.
• Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations.
• Perform basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare reports of results.
• Evaluate site conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ICC Certifications in soils, structural masonry, or reinforced concrete required.
• Engineers Intern (EI) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 70 lbs. steadily in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to participate in and pass pre-employment screening including background, drug screening, and driving record.
• Valid, clean driver’s license; must maintain a safe driving record for travel to job sites.
