To support workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory programs by developing training, conducting audits and inspections, managing compliance activities, and promoting a culture of safety. This role partners with operations, engineering, and HR to reduce risk, ensure compliance with applicable regulations and ISO standards, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
QualificationsEDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND
EXPERIENCE:
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years’ experiences in environmental, health and safety
- Preferred:
- Associate degree in environmental health and safety or related field of study
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in environmental, health and safety role in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to write procedures, policies, reports, and correspondences
- Must be comfortable delivering presentations to varied audiences
- Ability to read and interpret documents for various audiences
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Good organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and writing skills
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis skills
- Hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective action management
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Ability to influence and coach employees and leaders on safety practices
- Project management and continuous improvement skills
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
Physical Requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical office environment working inside a controlled temperature environment.
Occasional work required outside.
This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Position requires the ability to sit for a minimum of 6 hours per day
- Stand, walk, bend over and reach above head less than an hour a day
