Research Assistant – Lab Support
Research Assistant needed to provide lab support including mouse colony management, husbandry/injections/tissue dissection, genotyping/PCR, cell culture, tissue processing and immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and RNA isolation/RT-qPCR. Help train and guide undergraduates, maintain lab organization, and assist with ordering and inventorying.
Responsibilities
- Manage mouse colony and perform husbandry, injections, and tissue dissection.
- Carry out genotyping and PCR experiments.
- Maintain cell culture and tissue processing protocols.
- Perform immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and RNA isolation/RT-qPCR.
- Assist in training and guiding undergraduate students.
- Maintain lab organization and inventory.

Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree, or relevant Bachelor’s degree plus 3 or more years of independent research experience, or substantive relevant independent experience and education. May require terminal degree and licensure.
Required Skills
- Experience working with rodents – handling, husbandry, genotyping, intraperitoneal injections, etc.
- Technical and analytical skills in biomedical research, preferably molecular and cellular biology.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently with a high level of initiative.
- Track record of collaboration, productivity, and accomplishment in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DNA, RNA and protein samples.
- Experience with cell culture.
- Experience with microscopy.
- Experience with flow cytometry.
