Position Overview
The Saini Lab focuses on lungs and liver toxicology. We develop and evaluate mouse models of lung and liver injury through extensive histological and molecular techniques. The recruited candidate will conduct research on the NIH-funded models of lung inflammation.
Responsibilities- Develop transgenic mouse models of lung injury using Cre-LoxP and/or CRISPR/Cas9 system.
- Establish in vitro human models (spheroid/organoid) of lung injury.
- Collaborate within and outside laboratory to execute research projects on lung biology.
- Prepare peer‑reviewed publications and grant proposals.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Required Skills:
- Experience in generating transgenic mice.
- Experience in characterization and validation of experimental disease in mice models.
- Practical experience in general molecular biology techniques, tissue processing, sectioning, and histological staining.
- Evidence of original publications in peer‑reviewed literature. Good communication and ability to work independently or in collaboration.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience with transgenic mouse models of liver disease is highly considered. Background in liver in vivo, in vitro assays, and bioinformatics are key assets.
